Madison & Amy- A Poem

Madison & Amy
K.N. Lee

We grabbed our coats
Lips pursed in fear
We tip-toed down the hallway
So that he wouldn't hear

Our heartbeats drummed
At frightful speeds
We're running away
From step-dad's deeds

His snores are our sign
That he has no clue
What Madison and I
Are about to do

I hold my sister's hand
And lead her to the door
His snores abruptly stop
And we look back
Once more

He's standing there
Wild black hair
Scruffy beard
His blue eyes glare

He's watching us
Belt in hand
Scowl on face
But me,
I do not waste
Any time
I pull her free
And into the meadow
We escape
Madison
And Amy

Empty Your Heart is Free Today!

Empty your heart
And make room for me
I'd fight hordes and armies
Cross deserts and black seas
Become a slave to your will
With no will to be free

I'd like to haunt your dreams
While I sparkle and gleam
Wedge into your subconscious
Sprinkle love dust
And liquid lust

I'd wiggle in
Find a slot in your memory
For all I want
Is for you...
To remember me

Thirty poems of love, loss, and yearning. Empty your heart...

Soft Cries- a poem by K.N. Lee

Soft Cries
K.N. Lee

An intense urge smothers me
Ripping me from my sleep
Begging me to bleed
Those soft cries
Of mourning
Spinning painful prose
Like wicked spells
Dripping them onto
The blood-stained parchment
Of my bitter past
This urge has arisen
Like those soft cries
Breezing through almost unseen
Swirling and twirling
Like the cracked music box
I shall weep beauty from my tainted soul
And share it with my broken heart

All Roads Lead Here- a poem by, K.N. Lee

All Roads Lead Here
K.N. Lee

All roads lead here
To the end of your journey
A door creaks open
While your heart is still burning with yearning
For an end to such grief
Or a joyous tomorrow
Like a sleep thief
The night sweeps
And plunges you into such sorrow
Like you've never felt
It's heavy and thick
The emotions flood
And make you feel sick
With guilt and regret
You may start to fret
But do not forget
You are not
Finished
Yet!
A step through that door
Of dark thoughts
And sickening knots
Will only lock behind
Rewind your mind
To soft sweet kisses
And the family that misses
Their sweet little girl
The light to their world
No need to fret now
Their words may sting
And your enemies may bring
Emotions of dread
So much that you think
That they want you dead
Such power they wield
But your courage
Is your shield
Show them the truth

The glorious truth within

You still have a choice
You can change your life's story
Because you have a voice...

The Last Slumber
K.N. Lee

The window fogs
Drips with mist
I don't want to get out of bed
Nightmares and night scares
The demons swarm my head
I peel my eyelids open
And meet with the eerie black
It's cold
Simply frigid
But there is no turning back
I climb to my knees and bow
The ghost taps my shoulder
And whispers
You're ready now...
I slowly look up
Shiver
And cover my ears
Glance back at my body and swallow fresh tears

Sweet Love- a poem by K.N. Lee

Sweet Love
K.N. Lee

Sweet love
Of my heart and soul
Purging pasts
And encouraging goals
Hold me right
On cold days
And rainy nights
Sweep me gently
Across puddles of tears
And give me courage
When those sneaky fears
Threaten me day in
And day out
Kiss me
Smother me with delicious
Adoration
Stroke my cheek
And whisper your
Undying infatuation

Broken Glass- a poem by K.N. Lee

Broken Glass
K.N. Lee

Little pieces of broken glass
And unsung songs
I clutch the glass
Blood drips
With the sting of untold wrongs
He loves me
He hates me too
But I love him more
Than I love you
A heart ripped
Lips part
Lies snipped
The secrets bleed
The guilt feeds
A desperate attempt
To forget my greed
I love him
I love you too
How can I choose?
When it is certain
That I will lose...

I Want to Soothe Her- a poem

I Want to Soothe Her
K.N. Lee

I want to soothe her
Hold her
And let her know
These tears will dry
And the wind will blow
Toxic kisses
Leave such dark marks
But the sun sheds rays
That smooth out the scars
Such sobs are healing
Like the river flows
Such sobs are purging
Pleasing
And essential
To letting him go
Dark clouds fade quickly
There is no doubt
Breathe in
Breathe him out

When Darkness Creeps Upon Us- a poem

When Darkness Creeps Upon Us
K.N. Lee

When darkness creeps upon us
It's usually not at night
True darkness creeps inside us
Silent
And out of sight
When the walls fall
And mountains crumble
A little ray of hope
Flutters in
Or stumbles
One might smile
For love brings light
But when one rips it away
Or gives up the mighty fight
The heart may weep
The soul may cry
When darkness creeps upon us
You'll now know why
For true darkness stems from heartache
A wretched lover
Cruel and cold
One who'll knock you down
And watch you fall
True darkness comes from
Inner pain
Not the switch on the wall

I'll Wait For You- a poem

I'll Wait For You
K.N. Lee

When the terror ends
And the heartbreak begins
I'll be quiet
And wait for you

When the room turns black
I know you'll be back
Even when the door slams
I' won't cry
Or beg
I'll just wait for you

When time goes by
And I start to forget
Love and hope
I'll wait for you

When my dreams perish
In flickering flames
I won't blame you for the destruction
Or these cold chains
If you let me go
I promise
I swear I won't tell
Of the pain you put me through
Or this bitter hell
I'll keep my mouth shut
To be free once more
Please
Please
Unlock these chains
Unlock the door

Wake Up- a poem

Wake Up
K.N. Lee

The winter chill
And a bitter breeze
Cannot hold back
Such fiends as these
They hide in silence
Beneath your bed
Crouching over your sleeping body
Whispering
"Wake up, sleepy head,"
They wait
And wait
For the lights to dim
So that you cannot
See their faces so grim
Teeth dripping with acid
Singes the blankets you clutch
Their hands are leathery
And cold to the touch
You toss and turn
Dream and scream
As they sing this song
Every Hallows Eve
"Wake up
Sleepy head
Come and play
We must be fed"

A Wanderer- Poem

A Wanderer
K.N. Lee

A wanderer
Cloaked in black
Head high against the snow
And won't look back
Silver strands
Of hair float free
Sparkling eyes
Of emerald green
She faces death
With tears in her eyes
Falls to her knees
Scrapping snow and ice
With a baby in her arms
She kisses it's cheek
Let's out a tortured sigh
And whispers goodbye

Scratch your musings

Divide by, Shane Hogan

 Divide
Shane Hogan

Through the eyes the world is seen;
Picturesque mountains painting clouds serene,
Watching rivers run so slow;
Off to valleys
Where the green grass grows

In my distance I observe the plain,
Over there, and back again
Humble hornet's bat weighted wings,
But cure my eyesight with their potent stings;
I gradually change my view and line of sight
And  cast my vision on coastal night

The wind catch's water,
And wave catch's rock ,
And on the great beach
Each pebble is dropped
Time gives abrasion,
And structure gives way;
All that is great and titanic
Will brake down to clay

So all that's left to wonder
Is true life ,
  To bind a soul
With its embodied wife,
Or foresee a path so drenched
With its ink-less strife,
But I'll hear the moment
Great or small
And my dumb, deaf heart
Will transcend the call

Nightmares- A Poem

Nightmares
K.N. Lee

Cryptic messages
Float through the dark
Stark contrast
To the forbidden arts

Tossing
Turning
Stirring in sweat
The night has just begun
You haven't felt true fear yet
Striped clean of innocence
And dipped into the pool of hate
Sated with poison
Set naked before the black gate
Close your eyes and listen
To the call of the crows
Bow in tense silence
To the bleak images that are shown

Slithering snakes
And snapping feral beasts
Glittering stakes
And bloody feasts
Don't eat the fruit!
Flies will surely fill your belly
Teeth will fall out like rain
Leaving gums of mush and jelly
Such deafening lies
Thump inside your head
Peel your eyes open
To escape this world of dread
Cry for your mother
And hide beneath your bed

The Painted Harpist

One of the poems in the dark poetry collection, Wicked Webs. Available on Amazon!
http://www.amazon.com/Wicked-Webs-K-N-Lee-ebook/dp/B00D9YCZGQ/ref=pd_sim_kstore_3

The Painted Harpist
K.N. Lee

The painted harpist

Plays a tune
One of magic
One of doom
Pick a color
Sniff the perfume
Choose a powerful
Potion
Or rune

I think it's time
To dive inside
The painted harpist's
Twisted mind
She sings a song
Of melancholy
Dooming
Any foe
Or folly
Creeping critters
Dance a jig
On her head
If she opens her black eyes
You
Are dead...

Willa & Max- a poem

Willa and Max
K.N. Lee

Willa had a little boy
A red cheeked fellow
Who brought her joy
He smiled
And sang
In his darling little voice
But Willa was faced
With a difficult choice

Max was his name
Only four, you see
With curly brown hair
And eyes of green
His tiny hands
Were fused into claws
He had pale white skin
And markings on his paws

Max was not
A normal child...
But a creature from her closet
From a place hidden
But wild
He'd snuggle into her soft warm bed
Sing her to sleep
And that's when he fed
While Willa slept
Little Max would feast
For he was more than a goblin
But a growing beast
