For most people, a visit from their former in-laws is unpleasant at most. If only I were that lucky. 

Mine have unexpectedly dropped by, leaving a couple of bodies in little bits and a message in blood as their way of saying hi. 

Which is just great. Now I can add one more group to the growing list of nut-bags who want to tuck me in for a dirt nap. Simply put, if the in-laws don’t get me, a dead woman, the Loki, or any one of a legion of mythological beasties just might. 

To top it off, I’ve learned that there’s a cosmic war that’s been raging since the dawn of creation, and somehow, I’ve found myself at the very center of it all. I know it's gonna be a hell of a day when death might be the least of my problems.

Biography

Ken Lange is a current resident of the ‘Big Easy’, along with his partner and evil yet loving cats. Any delay, typo or missed edit can and will be blamed on the latter’s interference.

He arrived at this career a little later in life and his work reflects it. Most of his characters won’t be in their twenties and they aren’t always warm and fuzzy. He is of the opinion, that middle-aged adults are woefully underrepresented in fiction and has made it his mission to plug that gap.

Translation, he’s middle aged and crotchety.

Where are you from?

I moved around a lot when I was younger, but nowadays I live in New Orleans.

When did you know, you wanted to become an author?

I started writing when I was still in school, but work pushed it aside until recently.

What challenges have you faced?

I’m not sure the challenges in my life are that different than most other people’s, but I will say that trying to balance work and being an author is tough.

What is your favorite part about being an author?

Writing the stories I’ve always wanted to tell.

Who is your greatest supporter?

My wife, since she’s the one who really pushed me to find an editor and really give the author thing a real chance.

Any advice for someone who aspires to be an author?

Be yourself, and find a fantastic editor. I’m lucky to have such a phenomenal one, and it’s made all the difference in the world.

Anything you want to say to your fans?

I really hope you enjoy the books.

Coffee or tea?

Tea has always been my drink of choice. To be honest, I’m not a big fan of coffee.

If you could have any superpower, what would it be?

When I saw this book was released, I immediately purchased it and dove into it as soon as I got off work. I had the book finished in one evening; I couldn't put it down. If you've read any of Mia's books, you know there is always a sexy alpha male involved and a strong, smart woman. I loved the first three books of Alpha Four, but Thunder stole it for me. The strong silent type, fighting his attraction for Liv through the first three books and finally giving in to love.

I have to admit, the plot line was well thought out and I had no idea who was behind the evil doings.

I hate to have this series end. Thunder and Liv were great together. From the other books you knew they would end up together, but it was fun seeing their relationship develop. Liv's database was hacked and mysterious messages were being sent to some of her clients. Liv called Thunder and he and his team set out to find the hacker. Once the last message was sent and it was about Liv, Thunder and his team set the trap to catch the hacker, but it did not go as expected. You will have to read the book to see what happens.

I like the tough guy meets woman who won't take his big guy attitude. She will stand up but loves it when he takes charge. Love is a powerful thing. It's got everything you want in a good romance book. Heat, sex, fun what else could you ask for.

When I was asked to put together a blog post I was stuck. I’d just finished my first draft of a new series and my mind was still focused on edits and plot. So, I turned to my street team (they are amazing!!) and asked them what they wanted to see me write about. In return they compiled a nice list of questions. Enjoy!

Kacey Ables asks: What made you want to write fantasy?

I’ve always lived in a fantasy world. Growing up, I was obsessed with the Harry Potter books. Think long lines at midnight in the freezing cold just to be one of the first to get their hands on them (this is before ebooks!) and then staying up the rest of the night to finish the book!!

As I grew older and had children of my own I started telling them fantasy stories, dragons, princesses and fairies..etc.

Fantasy books and stories have always been a part of my life.

Christopher Morgan asks: Where do you get your drive?

My kids. They were the ones who pushed me to start writing in the first place. Each time I finish a book they get so excited. They tell everyone and anyone we come across (sorry if you came across my kids at target)about my books.

COFFEE…I drink about a pot a day J

Karen Tomlinson asks: How do you organize working, family and author life?

I live a crazy chaotic life! Honestly, the only reason I’m able to do all the things I do is because of my husband. He is wonderful. He definitely picks up the load when I’m knee deep in edits or sends me to my office when I just have to write this next chapter. The poor guy has been spending hours each weekend at Girl Scout booths selling Girl Scout cookies with our daughters just so I can get my writing done. He definitely deserves the credit for keeping me and our four kids organized!

Kristin Dutt asks: Take on dragons?

Who doesn’t love dragons? Once again I can thank J.K. Rowling for making me obsessed with dragons! There is something just so majestic in a mythical creature that possess so much power.

Jay Venti PA asks: What made you start your author/PR business?

Dragon Realm Press has just been a wonderful experience for me. I was having authors come to me begging for help. They kept telling me that I needed to start a business that the services I was giving to them were a necessity especially to newer authors. With a bit of a push from a fellow author Dragon Realm Press was formed!

Jemimah Zafoune asks: What's your all-time favorite book?

This is a hard question. Obviously I love all of J.K. Rowling’s books. I think my obsession with Harry Potter is clear J! My next favorite book would have to be Gone With the Wind. I’ve read the book at least a hundred times, whenever I’m in between books and am looking for something to read I always find myself picking it up to re-read.
