The Butterflies- A Poem

The Butterflies

The butterflies 

Buzz buzz

Like busy bees

Inside

My nightmares 

Haunt without mercy

There is nowhere to hide

One wink of sleep

And I fall

Down down

With screams of terror

Clutching 

Grasping

For anything

Sobbing

Gasping

What horrors will tonight bring?

 

 

As I drift into the dark

Fear creeps in

And fills my heart

This world is odd

Quite strange

People I don't know

Friends without names

Villains and foes

With sharp teeth

And black eyes

Greet me with pain

And promises to terrorize

The butterflies 

Buzz buzz

Warning 

And beckoning too

I grab a hold of its glittering wings

And let it fly me to somewhere new
