Beautiful Stranger

**Review Tour**

Beautiful Stranger

Twenty-four year old Claudia has always been the sensible one. From her boring call centre job right down to her practical wardrobe, flash and extravagant are not part of her normal vocabulary. She may live in Ascot, the home of British horseracing, but the presence of all the moneyed revellers blocking her route home from work are more of a nuisance than a thrill. Until one of them catches her eye...

Peter’s life couldn’t be more different. All his life he’s worked hard to make it in the banking industry, to give his wife all she’s ever wanted. After a day of sipping champagne and watching the races, an indiscretion of hers with Peter’s colleague changes this picture-perfect vision of middle class life forever. He decides to cut and run, only, he hasn’t a clue where he’s going.

A chance meeting by the side of the road brings them together, making them forget their opposing backgrounds. Is passion alone enough to overcome their differences?

Beautiful Stranger is book 2 in the Chance Encounters series.

Chance Encounters is a series of stand-alone novellas set in jolly old England, following a set of loosely connected people as they find love in unexpected places. Can love conquer all, from class differences to age gaps? Read on and find out.

Review:

Beautiful Stranger is quick read that delivers on heat, romance, and an overall fantastic story.

We begin with Claudia, a young woman bored with her job and her life, and tired of the worthless men she's used to dating. On a chance encounter she meets Peter. He's drunk in his car, and seems utterly hopeless...except he's incredibly good-looking and somehow urges an uncharacteristic response from Claudia.

She offers to drive him to her house to sober up.

Interesting...

Once at her home it doesn't take long for his charm to spark something new in her. She learns of his wife's betrayal and immediately empathizes with him. How could anyone cheat on a man so attractive, wealthy, and genuinely kind?

Passions ignite, and the two heat up the pages as they explore and please each other's bodies. The sex scenes deliver, and are well written...but what pleases me is that it doesn't end there. There is so much more to this story that you must explore. Beautifully written, with characters that feel real almost immediately, this book is one that I would recommend.

Bio

Hedonist (or simply "H.") is a Romance writer based in rainy England. Addicted to caffeine, chocolate and impure thoughts, she likes to write short stories and serial novels dealing with those aspects of the human condition that we all think about, yet dare not discuss openly. No-one is perfect, neither are her characters, which makes them all the more relatable and well-liked by her fans.

Quick Facts about Hedonist Six

·         She's an independent author, who started her career in 2012.
·         Her work can best be described as "Uncensored Romance". The connection between the main characters takes centre-stage, but not much happens behind closed doors.
·         Some of her favourite words contain only four letters, yet another thing left "uncensored" in her work.
·         Unlike every other writer out there, she does not drink coffee. But take away her chocolate and tea, and all hell will break loose.
·         She lives in London with her husband and seemingly ever-expanding collection of motorised two- and four-wheeled companions.
·         When she's not writing, she's off living her secret life as a boring office worker.
·         When they first meet her, most people can't quite figure out the origins of her accent.
·         Her catalogue consists of two serialised novels and three novellas, all of them contemporary (steamy) romance featuring characters so realistic you feel you might bump into them at your local supermarket.

Emily Macque, a young, beautiful junior partner in her father’s law firm, is but a heartbeat away from love or destiny. Duty brings Emily to a frozen Island estate two hundred and fifty miles north of Chicago. Devotion requires she delve into the property history to settle an estate probate. Death lures her into the arms of the shadows seduction created by the flickering light and dark shadows.

What flames the timeless passions spanning the decades? Love, desire or obsession?

Colin Jorgenson, once a Great Lakes mariner, is a strong man haunted by love and loss. How long will he return each night, gripped by desire, hoping to find the woman he has loved for a century?

Beneath the pristine Island beauty, passions hungered, lingered in the ardent darkness. His passions, fueled by decades of loneliness and longing, could no longer be denied. Will they face eternity together or love in secret as dark things are to be loved between the shadows and the soul?
I just finished The Para-Portage of Emily. Quite the page-turner!!
I was gifted a free copy by the author and found it to be a cleverly woven plot with descriptive characters you won’t soon forget. I’m not one to give out spoilers,
but if you like paranormal intrigue, hot romance, and mystery, you will love it. Looking forward to more works by Muffy Wilson as I’m sure they will be just as brilliant.

It looked like a magical castle rising from the mist in an enchanted forest. Oh, it was enchanted, all right, Emily thought to herself. And so very beautiful. It must have felt wonderful to be loved by such a man who honored his love, his wife, with such magnificence.
“To be adored like that is how dreams may come true, if one truly believes.” Emily said aloud, to no one but Barkley who looked at his love adoringly. “Yes, your love is constant, but the love of a man like that, took a woman like Amalya. Those days have passed with the centuries. Men and women are not like that anymore, Barkley. Love is a fleeting convenience, now, between professional people needing healthy sex. Ah, Barkley…but we can dream, can’t we?”
They mounted the steps to the massive carved oak front door. Emily leaned against the hand twisted and tooled wrought iron railing, just to catch her breath. The door was etched and carved with such majesty. She ran her glove-covered hand over the heavy wood, dipping her fingertips into the plumed design. And what dreams would you tell if you could talk, of the love and lovers that lived behind your protection? Emily thought as she scolded herself for waxing acting so nostalgic when she had a great deal to do.
She opened the door, only to see what she took as a shadow move into the library. Barkley stood starkly still when his usual pursuit was the kitchen to eat. His low quiet growl alarmed Emily—her eyes had not deceived her. No one had come down the drive, nor had she seen anyone but the man from the jetty walking the grounds. Barkley had not alerted to anything unusual so it could only be someone else who had come in the back of the house while she walked the mile and back to South Point. She was shaken at the prospect someone was in the library, but cast off the thought as nonsensical. Who would want to hurt her? It all passed through her head quickly, in but a second of reasoning.
“Hey, there, who are you? What are you doing here?” And with that, Emily’s brazen personality surfaced. She subordinated any marker of fear, and took control by walking boldly into the library. When she strutted into the library, there was no one there, just she and Barkley, who was standing decidedly well behind the protection of her feet. Barkley jumped upon the couch and claimed a higher vista around the room. But, in the same amount of time, Emily determined she was alone—starkly alone. But, this could not be. She was quite certain she had seen someone or something, a form or a shadow of a man moving within the foyer to the library. She was intent on finding what it was, but found nothing. There were no footprints, no melted snow droplets, nothing askew. It was perplexing.
There was no doubt about it and it gave way to her questioning herself and her confidence. And then she realized something…she still had her sunglasses on. Of course, coming in from outside created a margin of fog on her lens, creating the suggestion of a shadow.
Silly woman, she thought to herself as she saw Barkley curl into a completely unthreatened curl of fur on the library sofa. She was certainly taken by her clever imagination. There had certainly been a lot of fodder to stoke her creative imagination and it certainly had fueled it, indeed. She straddled the armrest and petted her little friend in an effort to regain her composure.
Yes, of course, that was it.

This is a story to savor. Ms. Wilson's descriptions are poetic and enthralling,
placing the reader in the midst of the story, and the relaxed pace of the story does not lessen the power of suspense. Shrouded in mystery, romance, and eroticism, "The Para-Portage of Emily" is a treat for the senses,
a haunting indulgence. Despite hints throughout, the ending still surprised me, and though satisfied,
I regretted the literary journey's end. Highly recommended. I look forward to more from this promising series. ~ By Jordan Stringfellow

Muffy, author of erotic, romantic stories about love, sex, hope and passion, was born in San Antonio, Texas, to traditional parents. With two older brothers, she was the youngest, the family "princess," indulged and pampered. She adored her older brothers, following them everywhere and was surrounded by love, stimulation, and pets. Her father was a career Colonel and pilot in the U.S. Air Force which required the family to travel extensively. The family lived in most points between Alaska and France. Muffy spent her formative years in Europe and came of age in France.

Returning from France with her family, Muffy finished high school in Northern California and attended the University of California, Davis, and majored in Business Management.

Muffy entered the work force, independent with a fierce work ethic, and retired at 39 from IBM as a Mid-West Regional Director in the Real Estate and Construction Division. She and her husband moved to a small Island in northern Wisconsin where they owned a historic tavern, restaurant and resort business which they since have sold. They now live a charmed life by the water in SW Florida. Muffy pretends to be a serious real estate business person but, in real life, indulges her private interest in writing sexy novels and sensual romantic literotica ~ Live, Laugh, Love with Passion.

I really enjoyed the Para-Portage of Emily... a skillfully and imaginatively told tale of love, lost and found. Mysterious twists kept me turning the pages until the end.

Should John Grisham and EL James have a secret love child, she would no doubt pen legal thrillers with a luscious layer of the erotic. They would name their child Muffy Wilson and send her to Stephen King for some pointers in the paranormal.
Wilson, in the obliquely titled "The Para-Portage of Emily", interweaves these three diverse genres into a compelling, magic carpet of a novel that takes Emily Macque from Chicago to a bitter island estate two hundred miles north in the frozen sea. Emily is the striking junior partner in her father’s law firm, her mission, to settle the probate on an estate, her destiny to fall into the arms of Colin Jorgenson, a seaman haunted by a past love that torments his life.
Intelligent, well-written, with fully fleshed out characters and a story with more twists than a spiral staircase, "The Para-Portage of Emily" had me gripped until the very last page.

Nicole, through her work and her connection with Robert Jenkins, a powerful young senator who happens to head the Intelligence Committee, pieces together who hired the assassin. Then it started. The siren was the first thing to warn him something was wrong. The golden light turned dark. The bittersweet taste of adrenaline began in his mouth, and he swallowed, trying to quell it. A red flashing light accosted his eyes, and he could see himself running to his home—their home. He ran into the house, unable to catch his breath. He tried to wake himself from the nightmare. He didn’t want to live this again.
